The Green Bay Packers are looking to do whatever it takes to take their roster from playoff caliber to championship caliber this off-season. Many believe that only minor tweaks will be needed on offense to get to that level as they were firing on all cylinders during the latter half of the 2023 season.
Today it was reported that the Packers are visiting with a mammoth of a human being that could solidify one of the most important positions on the field.
The Green Bay Packers Visit With Massive Offensive Weapon
In preparation for the 2024 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers will host British Columbia offensive tackle Giovanni Manu on a top 30 visit, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.
At least 12 NFL teams have visited Manu, who is 6-7 and 352 pounds with a wingspan of 83 inches.
The Packers Will Invest In The Offensive Line In This Years’ Draft
Manu could fit the exact mold the Packers are looking for. A physical freak of nature who could develop into an outstanding prospect. Zach Kruse of the Packers Wire took a deep dive into what Manu could bring to an NFL team:
The Packers were one of several teams on hand for Manu’s pro day workout where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.06 seconds and hit 33.5″ in the vertical leap. Based on his testing from the pro day, Manu’s Relative Athletic Score would be 8.83 out of 10.0.
A native of Tonga, Manu played in 39 games over six seasons (redshirt in 2018, 2020 season cancelled). He started 33 games at left tackle and six at left guard. Manu was a second team All-Canadian pick in both 2022 and 2023.
Manu is 23 years old.
A potential Day 3 pick or priority free agent, Manu is likely viewed as a developmental prospect who has the physical size and athleticism to play at the NFL level.
