Micah Parsons usually lines up against the biggest people in the NFL, facing left tackles on a weekly basis. He took things to a different level on Saturday, though. Along with Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud, Parsons went up against Japanese sumo wrestlers for some offseason training.
Two reps took place and unsurprisingly, Parsons went down in the first one. He then promised to “hit legs every day” after getting thrown out of the circle. Stroud even showed the wrestler a celebration, rocking the baby right in front of Parsons.
But with how competitive Parsons is, he went out there and won on the second occasion, and was quite happy with himself. After a little celebration, the Dallas Cowboys star hit the ‘Too small’ taunt as the room erupted with laughter.
An unusual way to get some strength training done during the offseason. And maybe it’s inspired Parsons to work on his legs a little more when back at the Star in Frisco. When in Japan!

Parsons and Stroud have been overseas ever since the 2024 NFL Draft, hitting China and Japan over the last few days. A stop at the Great Wall of China was in order before throwing out ceremonial first pitches at a baseball game in Tokyo.
However, going up against sumo wrestlers has to be the most relatable thing to what they do back in the United States. Parsons will soon be practicing against recent first-round draft pick Tyler Guyton out of Oklahoma in training camp. It may be fun to see how Guyton holds up compared to these sumo wrestlers.
Stroud, on the other hand, is usually attempting to avoid guys this size. Whether it’s the Houston offensive line blocking in front or opposing defensive linemen chasing after him, Stroud enjoys a clean pocket to deliver throws to his wide receivers.
Parsons will get his first chance to go up against Stroud this season. Dallas and Houston have each other on the schedule but the exact date is not yet known. An in-state contest we do not get to see too often, you just know there will be some extra juice in the matchup.
The offseason tour with Parsons and Stroud is fun for now but soon enough, the two will be locked into the upcoming NFL season, attempting to win a Super Bowl.
