Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz famously has a phobia of commitment and now he finally may be ready to take his next romantic step two years after his divorce from ex-wife and castmate Katie Maloney.

The 41-year-old reality star was joined by 23-year-old college grad Sophia Skoro on The Viall Files podcast just a month after they sparked romance rumors on a date night at Madonna’s concert.

Host and former Bachelor Nick Viall welcomed Sophia to the show as he asked her if they were official.

They said that they were ‘almost’ there as Sophia explained: ‘I just want to be in the most perfect place. I like to be very, at ease.’

Tom admitted that he doesn’t want to ‘put pressure’ on the recent college grad who is nearly two decades his junior as he added: ‘We enjoy our time together.’

Though they are not officially a couple the two definitely have some kind of commitment to one another as Sophia was asked if they have dropped the L-word to which Sophia responded that they ‘definitely love each other.’

It has been well-documented on Vanderpump Rules that the Schwartz & Sandy’s owner suffered from gamophobia as he had trouble popping the question to now ex Katie and even cheated on her multiple times in the process including with their fellow castmate Scheana Shay which was only recently revealed on the Bravo series.

Tom revealed how he and Sophia met as he explained: ‘We actually met on a whim at TomTom.  It’s funny, ironically, around that moment, I made a pledge, not only to myself, but to the universe, that I will not hang out or date.

‘I’m just going to be single and work for the next two years. … Then I bumped into her.’

It was Sophia who made the first move as she told the reality star that he was ‘hot’ at their first meeting as they exchanged numbers at the time but did not talk for a while.

‘She overlooks all my baggage,’ Tom explained. ‘[She is] One  of the coolest human beings on planet earth, the baddest b***h alive.’

He couldn’t stop gushing about the young Los Angeleno as he praised her ‘unconventional sense of humor’ and praised her success while saying she is ‘sharp as hell.’

As Tom has been roasted on the internet over their age difference, he doesn’t seem too bothered by it as he said: ‘Honestly, if I was a lecherous old man trolling bars, seeking out young women, I think I would feel gross, but we just bumped into each other. We hit it off.’

Tom has played coy about his love life until this point as he and Sophia enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas, NV last month.

The flame-haired vintage designer curator graduated from the University of Oregon in 2022, is just 23 – almost half the age of 41-year-old Vanderpump Rules star.

Last month, Sophia shared an Instagram slideshow and a video of their adventures attending Madonna‘s Celebration Tour at the T-Mobile Arena either last Friday or last Saturday.

In the TikTok post, Skoro and Schwartz lip synched along to skinnylegend’s cover of Justin Timberlake‘s 2006 hit SexyBack before dancing together.

The Oregon native – who’s employed as an associate media planner for the Publicis Groupe’s Agency Zenith – shared a snap of her playing cards-themed vintage purse resting on a roulette table.

Sophia – who tagged Tom in a car snap of her lap – rocked a ‘Material Girl’ crucifix top from LA’s Voulez Vous Vintage with black leather pants for the concert.

‘Tom what are you doing here?’ TikTok user @carlyhague asked in the comments.

The Schwartz & Sandy’s Lounge co-owner previously appeared in Skoro’s TikTok video from February 7 in which they brave a rainy LA night together.

The self-described ‘nepo-baby’ – whose father ‘Carpet Carl’ Skoro owns Marion’s Carpet & Flooring Warehouses – moved to the overpopulated California city in 2022.

Tom previously hinted he was ‘hanging out’ with someone special while appearing on the February 20th episode of Watch What Happens Live, saying: ‘I think she would prefer that I didn’t say.’

Sophia marks Schwartz’s first love interest since his ‘whirlwind romance’ with hairstylist Jo Wenberg.

‘Okay maybe mixed signals there a little bit. We had a lightning in a bottle situation for a while there,’ the Minnesota-born, Florida-raised Bravo-lebrity told host Andy Cohen.

‘I don’t know if it was sustainable given my mental state of being. I don’t know if I was equipped to be in a conventional relationship. I should have been committed. I should have been committed. I was in a very weird place like I have never experienced in my entire life. I’ll shut up now.’

Tom also kissed his former Vanderpump Rules co-star Rachel Leviss at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ August 2022 wedding which she later called ‘definitely staged and definitely produced’ for the Emmy-nominated reality show.

Schwartz hasn’t had a real girlfriend since finalizing his divorce from Vanderpump Rules co-star Katie Maloney in October 2022 after five years of marriage and 12 years together.
