Nikki Ferrell and Juan Pablo Galavis left together at the end of season 18 of The Bachelorbut broke up only 7 months later. Here’s everything you need to know about their relationship and split. As stars of one of the best reality TV shows, Juan Pablo and Nikki had all eyes on them when they chose to get engaged. However, these two probably won’t be appearing on The Bachelorette season 21 or any subsequent seasons. Juan Pablo prefers to eschew the spotlight after seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. However, he was still on fans’ radars when he broke up with Nikki only seven months after their engagement.

Juan Pablo became the Bachelor after participating in Desiree Hartsock’s season of The Bachelorette. Despite not making it very far, Juan Pablo became a fan favorite on Desiree’s season because of his romantic gestures and sexy accent. In 2013, he was the first Latino to be named the Bachelor. Among the contestants on his season were memorable ladies Andi Dorfman and Clare Crawley, both of whom were later named Bachelorette. What happened between Juan Pablo and Nikki to break them up?

Juan Pablo’s season was a bit controversial, as fans became frustrated with his attitude towards women. Both Clare and Andi famously told him off during the season, which made them fan favorites. Although the public’s opinion of Juan Pablo declined over the course of the season, it was certainly memorable, and was featured on an episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever! What happened with Juan Pablo and Nikki after their engagement?

“At the end of the day, we gave it a go, but we’re too different.”

Ultimately, Juan Pablo chose Nikki Ferrell as his winner, but their relationship ended only seven months later. They split for many of the same reasons that other Bachelor couples break up, according to E! NewsNikki told E! in 2015 that their different lifestyles and distance led to their breakup. At the time, Juan Pablo lived in Miami, while Nikki was living in Kansas City. “At the end of the day, we gave it a go, but we’re too different,” she said.

Nikki had no bad feelings towards Juan Pablo and said she was happy and doing well. “He’s a good person, I don’t have anything bad to say,” said Nikki, despite many fans questioning whether Juan Pablo’s character was the reason for their split. She also said the couple tried everything to make the relationship work. “I wasn’t going to quit, I’m not a quitter,” she told E!“I tried everything, he tried too. It wasn’t just a one-sided thing…we real-life tried, not TV tried.” Nikki and Juan Pablo did make an appearance on MTV’s Couples Therapy, but it sounds like they got some real therapy too.

Currently, Nikki is married to Tyler VanLoo, and Juan Pablo is divorced from Venezuelan model Osmariel Villalobos. Nikki and Tyler were friends pre-Bachelor, but didn’t start dating until after the show, as reported by Refinery 29They married in 2016, and Andi Dorfman was a bridesmaid. Although they reportedly separated in 2018, the couple reunited and is still together today. Juan Pablo has a daughter named Camila who was born in 2009, from a relationship with Venezuelan actress Carla Rodriguez. He began dating Osmariel Villalobos in 2016, and the couple tied the knot in 2017. They recently split and finalized their divorce in 2019.

Juan Pablo stays relatively under the radar in 2024. However, his daughter, Camila, recently auditioned for American Idol. Juan Pablo made an appearance on the hit reality TV show to support his daughter, who is now 15. While it’s crazy to think Juan Pablo starred on The Bachelor over a decade ago, becoming one of the more controversial stars, he mostly flies under the radar today. Hopefully, other Bachelors and Bachelorettes will continue to make wild onscreen mistakes so he can one day be absolved.
